Tasmania is an island of deep, primeval rainforests, rugged mountain ranges and untrod beaches, fringed by turquoise sea. It's an island where wilderness still beckons the adventurous and exquisite beauty lies around every corner. This is a collection of work from this island over the past two years.

This is Snug Falls, not far from the township of Snug, half an hours drive south of Hobart, Tasmania. A cool and inviting place to be on a hot summer's day.
I've always been captivated by that which cannot be seen in a landscape and is only revealed through the magic of photography. Long exposures are always surprising; you never know what you have captured until the exposure is complete. This is Snug falls, not far from the township of Snug, Tasmania.
I have always been facinated by the exquisite beauty of ice. The endless variety of shape and tone continue to draw me to the mountains whenever the weather is conducive to it's formation. This is a photograph of a pond, not far from the summit of Mt. Wellington, near Hobart, Tasmania.
The frozen pond on Mt Wellington, Tasmania, remined me of one of my favourite J.R.R. Tolkein stories: Smith of Wooton Major, in which a young man, gifted by the elves, wanders wild lands and finds a mountain lake, with a solid surface, beneath which fiery creatures swarth and writhe.

Like etched metal, a thin layer of ice covers a pond on Mt Wellington, Tasmania.
A pyramid of rock punctures the still waters at Freycinet National Park, Tasmania.
Like a scene from an alien world, dolerite columns puncture the winter sky near the summit of Mt Wellington, Tasmania.
Two boulders float, as if suspended in the clouds, on Dove Lake, Cradle Mountain National Park.
